Purpose of the foundation

The foundation's main task is to continue the work of The Red House in the spirit of Robert Peroni, who founded The Red House in the 1990s in Tasiilaq, the largest town in East Greenland with a population of around 2,000.

For more than 30 years he made the Red House into a hub for sustainable tourism. The local population is an integral and significant part of the house. Our foundation aims to provide sustainable support to give the house and the Inuit who work here a perspective for the future.

As a foundation, we promote:

  • public welfare-oriented tourism in East Greenland in connection with the Red House
  • social commitment
  • improving the quality of life for locals in the Red House's sphere of influence
  • protecting the cultural heritage of the Inuit
  • protecting nature and the environment
Winter in Tasiilaq. The Kong Oscar Fjord is frozen over and covered in snow. The sun is shining. The colourful houses in red, blue, yellow and green are splashes of colour in the white winter landscape.

Where we stand

The foundation currently supports the succession of personnel at The Red House and a transition in the spirit of its founder, Robert Peroni. In the next phase, we plan to expand social projects.
